CLAIRE MENARY | THE LONDON DIARY
This week, we met with London based travel and lifestyle photographer Claire Menary, one of our favourite London Ladies.
Claire is not only a photographer but a food blogger and has shared some of her favourite city hotspots from her little black book with us...
Firstly, as a photographer in London, where do you find your inspiration?
Everywhere and anywhere. Friends, people on the street, bloggers – they help me to push my boundaries. I like to play around with my style – I don’t want to be pigeon-holed into one look – so sometimes I buy something because I love it, then throw on other things and hope it works!
Favourite places in London for…
Kentish Town has itself a little French gem which not many people know about (unless you’re local!) called Patron. It’s very cute and typically French with delicious food and great cocktails. The best place for a date too – there’s a corner table which is just ideal!
Soho House makes a great Negroni!
Covent Garden Grind – they make a mean iced coffee and play awesome music at the same time!
I love the Bull & Last pub in Hampstead – great food and the upstairs is an interior heaven.
Favourite travel destination?
I love Hong Kong for its vibrancy and culture, Hawaii for its beach and New York for the buzz. There’s so many more places on my list though (Florence, Santorini, Vancouver, Istanbul to name a few!) that I can’t possible pick one until I’ve been everywhere!
Favourite market abroad?
A few summers ago I went to Nice and in one of the main squares they hold a great farmer’s market every morning. We picked up loads of fresh produce from meats to cheese to fruit & veg and had ourselves our very own French feast at home.
Favourite clothing item bought when you’re away?
I don’t actually buy clothing whilst I’m away (I usually buy a new wardrobe for the holiday before I go!). I’m more an accessories girl abroad – jewellery, scarfs, shoes and bags!
Favourite PAMPELONE piece?
I love the Grainers blouse – I have a thing for all things red at the moment so I was immediately drawn to this! I love that you can wear it on holiday on the beach or with a pair of jeans when you’re back home. I love the lace detail too – it adds a little something extra.
